Newsletter input from Chip….

We went camping this week at St. Augustine. Below are some pictures of the kids getting ready for the trip. Do they look excited?

We packed pretty light; i.e. no cartop carrier this time.

Actually it was an expanded field / educational trip on the cheap. We stayed at Anastasia National Campgrounds on Anastasia Island, St. Augustine Florida. One of the sites we got to see while there was the famous St. Augustine Lighthouse, pictured below:

We had to take a small detour back home to catch one of Carolyn’s playoff games. Her team is still undefeated so we drove 5 hours that day to participate. Good thing too – it was a “squeaker.” Carol’s team (the Bulldogs) won 1-0. Valda made the banner shown below. Her excellent coaches, Steve and Brad, are at the left hand side of the photo below from left to right respectively.

The remaining photos are of the beach and interesting shots at the campsite. The bright new faces are the Lowe’s (great folks) who also homeschool. They came along for a couple of days early in the week and had a campsite adjoining ours.

We also got to visit Fort Matanza (via free boatride to Rattlesnake Island) compliments of the National Parks Service. The large tree below is just outside of the visitor’s center.

This is a picture of the “Lovely Wife”* as she now must be called, surfing. *I was notified that the terms “Bossy Aussie”, “She who must be obeyed”, “N”, “The lady of luxury”, “Zelda”, and “Maw Squaw” were not acceptable.
