New Top End for original 283 Chevy:

...Thought you might enjoy a peek at my new top end for my daily driver, 1963 truck engine. The carb is a 750CFM and the engine is only an original stock 283 Chevy V8 so it's a little "Top heavy" (carb bigger than engine) to say the least. But it does sound good and will definitely scoot! Picked it all up (Carb (4 wks old), high rise torker intake, chrome valve covers, bolt downs, etc and a Mallory Unilite distributor (not shown)) for $100 bucks total at a yard sale and got to see it run prior to dropping the cash to boot! The fellow had a 12 second 327 Camaro and wanted a 10 second car so he dropped another $1200 bucks for an electronic setup!!! These are his leftovers.... -Chip Return to Chip's page.
